Begin The Wealth Read →By midnight, the bank statement may look much as it did at breakfast. The day does not.
A meeting took 40 minutes more than expected. Messages occupied the journey home. A decision about money followed you into the evening. The thought you meant to finish remained unfinished.
The bank statement records almost none of this. Yet the day involved time, energy and thought alongside money.
We have precise instruments for reading Financial capital. The other 8 rarely appear in the same view. The Wealth School begins there: not by diminishing money, but by placing it inside a wider reading of what a decision changes.
9 capitals, 1 position
The Wealth School uses a framework of 9 Life Capitals, organised in 3 groups, to bring that wider reading into one view:
Personal: Financial — material resources, income, buffers; Intellectual — learning, complexity, pattern recognition; Life Force — body, energy, somatic coherence.
Interpersonal: Social — networks, community, reciprocity; Emotional — awareness, regulation, resilience; Relational — trust, intimacy, mutual support.
Transpersonal: Spiritual — meaning, presence, inner compass; Creative — expression, innovation, play; Time — sovereignty, pacing, spaciousness.
Each names a different dimension. The reading lies in the relationships among them. The framework is public so that it can be used, tested and challenged.
Read together, never netted
The 9 share no unit and produce no total. A gain in one does not cancel a loss in another. Nor does strength in one imply weakness elsewhere.
A promotion may change Financial, Intellectual, Social, Time, Life Force and Relational wealth at once. That is not an argument for or against taking it. It is what becomes visible when the decision is read whole.
The capitals act on one another without becoming interchangeable. Financial wealth can protect future Time. Intellectual wealth can open Social possibility. Relational wealth can sustain Life Force. None of these is a conversion, and none erases what happens elsewhere.
Time already spent does not return. Life Force cannot be replaced by accumulating another capital. Both can be supported. Neither can be substituted.
What the School is for
The Wealth School exists to turn this way of seeing into a practice.
Stewardship does not mean preserving everything. It may mean growing something, changing it, passing it on or setting it down. It begins when more of the decision becomes visible.
The School opens on 15 October. From then on, a School letter will arrive here each Thursday.
Begin with your position
The Wealth Read brings all 9 capitals into one view. It takes about 15 minutes and is currently a free public pilot. It produces neither a total score nor a personality type.
Your position, read whole.
One question: think of a decision you made this week. What did it involve that no bank statement could show?
If you wish, reply to this email. Your answer will help shape the School’s first letters after the opening.
